Four of those players — Son, Dele, Alderweireld and Trippier — had been brought to the club by former head of recruitment Paul Mitchell.

Mitchell has already proven that, like Edwards, he's an elite talent-spotter who would deserv 世界杯直播 e the club's total faith. With that backing, he might just be able to repeat the renowned success of one of his predecessors.
By working alongside Jürgen Klopp as he did with Pochettino, the hope would be that he would re-establish Liverpool as a title contender.

Ahead of its 2019 Cham 世界杯篮球 pions League final clash with Liverpool in Madrid, the big question surrounding Tottenham Hotspur was whether talismanic striker Harry Kane would start.
Edwards and Klopp formed a hugely effective professional relationship, and perhaps the Reds should look to replicate it as best 卡塔尔世界杯 they can.
Mitchell's work with the club ceased in the latter half of 2016 but he'd already been influential in assembling an elite side that secured two more top-four finishes and made it to that Champions League final.

Pochettino's first transfer window was underwhelming. Ben Davies looked like a solid addition but the likes of Federico Fazio, Benjamin Stambouli, Michel Vorm and DeAndre Yedlin made only a limited impact.

Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko formed a two-man midfield, protecting a defense of Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose. Hugo Lloris, of course, was, of course, between the sticks.
But, crucially, he has also shown that he's capable of rebuilding a top Premier League side too.
According to journalist Jacque Talbot, Mitchell is 'one of the front-runners' for the position and attended Liverpool's Premier League clash with Southampton just before the World Cup.
Spurs hadn't finished in the top four since 2011/12, when Harry Redknapp was manager, falling to fifth under André Villas-Boas and sixth under Tim Sherwood.
Kane hadn't played since the first leg of the quarter-final against Manchester City, the game in which he suffered an ankle injury. In the end, Mauricio Pochettino deemed him fit enough to make the XI, with Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli joining him in attack.
There are some similarities here with the task he would face at Liverpool. Right now, the safest bet is that he would be walking into a Europa League one side once again, tasked with taking it up the table with relatively limited resources.
When he first joined Spurs in late 2014, Mauricio Pochettino, his former colleague at St Mary's, was only a few months into his new gig.
The four signings mentioned above, fetched for a combined $52m (£42m/€48m), helped transform Spurs into a title contender. It would finish third in 2015/16, running out of momentum at the end of the campaign after pushing Leicester City hard, and climb to second in 2016/17 as it challenged Chelsea. Its tally of 86 points that year was its highest in the Premier League era.
Intriguingly, Klopp is said to have taken on a more 'hands-on' role in recruitment in the last year or so, successfully pushing for the signings of Luis Díaz and Darwin Núñez (via The Times), and so the club will have to strike an appropriate balance of power when the new man arrives.
And now, three and a half years on, Mitchell, now at AS Monaco, reportedly finds himself under consideration for the vacant sporting director role at Anfield.

Much of Mitchell's work to date has been with clubs that have operated under a buy-low, sell-high model. Southampton, RB Leipzig and AS Monaco could all be placed in that category. |
